A repeatable, privacy-conscious checklist for finding and reducing profiles exposed under usernames you control. This guidance is about public-source research methods. Check the App version you installed for its actual interface and purchase access.
Choose one question
List usernames you control and decide what you want to learn, such as which old public profiles still show a retired handle. Set a date for deleting notes that are no longer useful. Avoid beginning with an unlimited search for everything about yourself.
Check each public source
Search one handle at a time. Open the original public page behind a useful lead and record the URL, date and what you actually saw. A matching handle alone does not prove that the page belongs to you; look for context you already know or use the platform’s official account recovery process.
Take action at the source
For an account you control, use the platform’s settings to reduce public details, correct outdated links or close the account. If a same-name profile belongs to someone else, keep it out of your action list. Use the platform’s official reporting process for a possible impersonation case.
Close the audit
Keep a short action ledger and remove screenshots or copied personal details that are no longer needed. A search result that is blocked or uncertain should remain unresolved, not be marked absent. Finish when each in-scope lead has an action or a reason to leave it alone.
